Privacy Policy

MarkSmart ("we", "us") is an app that helps small businesses create product posters and catalogues and share them. This policy explains what information the MarkSmart Android app and its server (api.marksmart.in) collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address and profile photo when you sign in with Google, or your name, email address and password when you sign up with email. Passwords are stored only as a one-way (bcrypt) hash.
- Shop profile — information you choose to enter: shop name, category, location, country, currency, mobile number and shop logo/image.
- Your content — products you add (names, descriptions, prices, discounts, tags), product photos you pick from your gallery or camera, the posters you design, editor settings and custom backgrounds, and catalogue links you create.
- Subscription information — if you subscribe to MarkSmart Pro, your plan, start and expiry dates, auto-renew status and the Google Play purchase token. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play; we never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
- Technical logs — our server keeps standard request logs (such as IP address, time and the request made) for security and troubleshooting.
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not access your contacts, location or other files beyond the photos you select.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account, products and posters in sync across devices.
- To generate posters, PDF catalogues and shareable catalogue links. Background removal on product photos is processed on our own server.
- To check and manage your MarkSmart Pro subscription with Google Play.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
Sharing
- We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
- Google processes your sign-in (Google Sign-In) and payments (Google Play Billing) under Google's own privacy policy.
- Catalogue links you create are public: anyone with the link can see the shop details and products in that catalogue. Posters you share through WhatsApp or other apps are shared by you, under those apps' policies.
- We may disclose information if required by law.
Storage and security
Your data is stored on our servers hosted with Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, India, and is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security purposes.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and edit your shop profile and products in the app at any time.
- You can delete your account and all its data from inside the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by request — see how to delete your account.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data or ask questions about this policy by emailing kmamit71ami@gmail.com.
Children
MarkSmart is a business tool intended for adults (18+). It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be announced in the app.
